FWIW, it's getting easier for me to put Simone down in her pack and play while I go put in a load of laundry-- whether she's crying or not. So maybe you'll be able to move more freely around the house in another month or two. I know that I sometimes feel like the kid has me on a 6 ft leash. Do you have a sling or other kind of baby carrier? I've been putting Simone in a Mei Tai wrap when she absolutely won't let me get anything done, and it has helped my sanity a little. I got mine on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5392648 but you can also find a pattern online for this, and I think you could easily make it.

I freaked the first time I had Simone at a major family outing. She was about two months old, and everyone was passing her around. I was pissed b/c my older sister's kids had some kind of flesh-eating disease that I didn't notice, and someone pointed it out to me AFTER they'd held her. She never got it, but WTF! I can't believe my sister let two rash-ridden pre-teens hold my baby! Was so glad I was still BFing at the time b/c I was the only one who could feed her. So at least I got her out of their clutches for a little while.

I'm much better now. The craziness subsides after a while. I'm still not remotely interesting, though. I think this part passes.

I'm lame w/my blog right now too, but please don't stop posting permanently.

Yea Greyhound racing, you forgot to mention zoo's too which are a terrible place to hold animals. I'm a football fan and I'm discouraged that not one NFL player to my knowledge has come out infuriated at the fact he was allowed back in to the league. I hope he gets tackled good this year.

You can find reasonable daycare, but you kind of have to put feelers out. It is pricey though, there is no getting around it. If you can work your schedules so Charlie is home with her when you have classes and you are home with her when he works, it will save you tons. I pay like $120 a week and that's fairly inexpensive.

If you go online there are ways to search for potential sitters in your area. They often have references and pricing info too. I think the cheapest I found was like $100 a week.

Not sure if it'll help, but here are some formula suggestions for you:

1) Sign up on the Enfamil, Similac and Good Start websites. If you give your information, they will send you some free cans of formula. If you can get any family members to sign up too, they can get free formula for you too. I think I got like five or six free trials which did help.

2) I know the market is saturated with the three biggies, but they are PRICEY. We started using the Target brand formula when our little one was like 5 months old. He couldn't tell any difference, had no issues (drank like it was going out of style) and was healthy as a horse, and it's like $13 a can instead of the namebrand $24 a can. It has all the same nutrients.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like Shae is a big help! Hurry on the coupons though...they are only good for 90 days.

We went through a time where it was going to cost us more to work than not. At the time, I missed some of the "stuff" I was missing, but looking back now, I would do it all over again.

Hulu.com will help ease the pain of losing cable, if you don't know about it already. We have our computer connected to our TV, which Kit says was easy to do, and the quality is fine.

Also, I think we have a spare digital HD receiver laying around the house. We got two with those government coupons and we only have one TV. Let me know if you want it.
